Have an incarcerated loved one? Honest Jobs wants them to feel confident about finding work

Updated: Apr 25, 2023

Honest Jobs has teamed up with Securus Technologies and other tablet providers to roll out a simplified version of Honest Jobs' job board to people who are still incarcerated. It enables people to search for jobs in the area they'll be going home to - helping them prepare for employment post-release.

The Honest Jobs pre-release app is currently on Securus tablets in 8 correctional facilities, with an expected expansion to 600,000 Securus tablets nationwide this spring.

“Finding a secure and rewarding job is a life changing experience for anyone. Employment empowers people, endows them with a sense of purpose, and grows their self-worth. A successful reentry is dependent on securing employment and the Securus tablets will put the Honest Jobs platform in the hands of hundreds of thousands of incarcerated people across the country who can use our tools to turn their lives around. We can’t do it alone, which is why this partnership is so important.” - Harley Blakeman, Founder & CEO of Honest Jobs

The job board app was built with an intuitive interface and unique features specifically for job seekers affected by the criminal justice system. ConflixAI color codes the job listings to show compatibility between job duties and conviction types. Fair-Chance badges show how many justice-impacted people Honest Jobs has confirmed each employer hired so far.

Reaching people while they are still incarcerated helps them prepare for successful reentry and feel hopeful about rebuilding their lives post-incarceration.
